Wreckin' Ball Billie
Habitat for Humanity International
In this game, you get to tear down houses and rescue a neighborhood. Work against the clock to demolish as many dilapidated houses as you can, without harming the neighbors’ property. And don’t worry… the neighbors will let you know when you mess up!
Developing the Concept
We knew we wanted something action-based, with simple, fast game-play. We all agreed—our team at Aten as well as the team at Habitat—that a game where you can demolish houses was a must-have; the challenge was creating a demolition game with a relevant, positive message.
In Wreckin’ Ball Billie, demolition is a positive experience. You literally destroy poverty housing, and simple decent houses are built up in their place.
Production
We created the concept, illustrated the characters and the neighborhood, and developed the game in Flash. Along the way we invited feedback and discussion from our clients at Habitat, and made changes as necessary.
The result is fun… bordering addictive.
