Jamestown 1907 Exposition

“As the 20th Century dawned, Virginia sought ways to honor the impending 300th anniversary of Jamestown… founded in 1607. To examine the meaning of Jamestown the generation of 1907 turned to an exposition - a fair - to gaze at an idealized past and celebrate an imagined future.”

Developed as a companion resource for an upcoming film being produced by HRNM, this site introduces users to the 1907 Jamestown Exposition using film clips and photography. The site was developed in Flash, and allows users to drag various stacked “artifacts” to examine them closer.
